Elections FAQs

Elections are held in even years.  2022 will be the next Election Year 
An individual who meets the following requirements may vote in the City of Ottertail:
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Be a Citizen of the United States; and
  • Maintain residence in Minnesota for 20 days preceding the election
  • Be a resident (live in the City corporate limits)

In Person – at the Otter Tail  County Auditor-Treasurer’s office, which is in the Government Services Center located at 510 Fir Ave W., Fergus Falls, MN 56537.

If you choose to obtain an absentee ballot by submitting an absentee ballot application by either mail, email or by applying online please plan to allow enough time for your ballot package to be mailed to you and for you to return your ballot package to us. Your ballot will not be counted if it is received after Election Day and your ballot cannot be returned by email or fax.

Residents of Ottertail may vote at The Community Center, located at 93 Lake Ave S. in Ottertail.
